About me...
Hi. I'm Lars Ruoff.
I currently live near Strasbourg (France) with my family.
A very short Curriculum Vitae
I went to school at Gymnasium Balingen, where i got my Abitur (diploma from German secondary school qualifying for university admission) in 1993.
I studied physics and astrophysics at Universität Tübingen and the Observatoire Astronomique de Strasbourg. I have a master's degree (Diplom) in physics, with specialization in computational- and astrophysics.
I currently work for Alcatel-Lucent as a software development engineer.
My professional skills include software design and programming (C, C++, C#, Java, Python, UML, ...), telecom and voice over IP (TCP/IP, SIP, H.323) and a bit of IT project management.
Other Facts About me ...
In my spare time, I do a lot of programming, mainly on my private game projects.
I have contributed to the Wireshark open source network protocol analyzer.
My other hobbies include board games, science and mathematics in general, physics, artificial intelligence and cognitive sciences in particular, aircraft (military aviation in particular) and history (especially WWII).
I liked these computer games and used to play some of them a lot:
Sim City, Sid Meyer's Civilization, Falcon 3.0 and Falcon 4 AF, The Settlers, Halflife, Total Annihilation, Portal, Trackmania Nations, ARC - now Spark, Supreme Commander - Forged Alliance, Left4Dead, World of Tanks.
